we watched the Morgan Spurlock's new reality show, 30 days the other night, and we both agree that it's one of the best to come along in a while. Morgan and his fiance' tried to live on minimum wage for a month, and discovered it's a bitch. straying from the normal "trash" element of most reality tv shows, it was very thought provoking and often moving. I think Morgan's a brilliant guy, it's worth checking out.

Re: 30 days......
Fri, June 17, 2005 - 4:32 PMI ♥ this show! I'm recording every episode. The first episode was great.
This can easily become one of my new favorite shows.
Tim - Morgan is the same guy who did Super-Size Me, that movie where he ate nothing but McD's for 30 days. Now he's doing other things for 30 days. He and his fiancee just moved to Columbus OH and took minimum wage jobs to see how they could get by for 30 days. It was pretty depressing.
Next week he's doing a show on hormone therapy.
Great show. -

Sat, June 18, 2005 - 7:55 AMGreat to see someone else here who watched 10 days! The first one was depressing, BUT it was a damn true portrayal of what it is like! Believe me, I know. It is important that people who have never had to live like this see what it is like. I can't wait until the next one. -

Re: 30 days......
Thu, June 23, 2005 - 8:32 AMWell, the second episode was excellent as well. A man, all of 34 years old, looking for the fountain of youth, begins 'anti-aging' therapy, including steroids and human growth hormones.
Surprise, surprise, he ended up with abnormal liver fuctions and NO sperm within 20 days.
What the hell is up with people in their 30's needing anti-aging therapy??? This country has such fucked-up values. -

Re: 30 days......
Fri, June 24, 2005 - 8:18 AMYeah, like that baseball player, Ted Williams, who had his body frozen in Phoenix... the company cut off his head and froze it in another container. Then his kids got into a huge fight over the will and the head... and didn't Walt Disney have his head frozen too??
This is just ghoulish and weird. About as ghoulish and weird as a man taking shots that will shrink his balls to nothing and kill his sperm in order to look young. I though most of what was cool about being young was having great sex!

Re: 30 days......
Sun, July 10, 2005 - 7:50 PMOh, the show that was on this past week really touched me. A young, straight christian guy from the midwest spent 30 days with a gay man living in the Castro in San Fransisco. It was wonderful. The kid really learned some new things, and lost some of his intolerance. I really love this show. -

Re: 30 days......
Mon, July 11, 2005 - 6:52 PMThis was the first episode I ever saw of the series (Episode 3 - the straight conservative spending 30 days in the Castro District) and I thought it was INCREDIBLE.
Gawd, I almost with this wasn't a cable-show so I could watch it on a more regular basis... (I tend to get addicted to tv shows and already have a buttload of stuff I like to watch each week WITHOUT getting into cable-series television as well. Which is unfortunate - 'cuz I know I miss some good programs with that type of self-denial... like, that show on HBO - "Real Sex" - wow, I'd been thoroughly entertained by every episode of THAT I've ever watched) ...but I will try to catch this show, 30-Days, as often as I can. -

Re: 30 days......
Thu, July 14, 2005 - 8:36 AMLast night's episode was interesting to me as a hippie flower child of the 70's. I am not sure I could live in the rabbit commune, but I admire the hell out of them for doing it. I thought the female was a HUGE pain in the ass through out most of the show, but in the end, I guess she did try at least. I didn't have a problem with the guy shooting rabbits to eat. Of course I am American Indian, and we always did shoot animals for food and what their parts could provide for us.
