Decided to start a new thread because the other one is getting soooo long...
Last night was really rough to watch, and it looks as if this is only going to get worse. Zodiac and I are so sympathetic and empathetic with Danny, it is really painful to watch this downward spiral. I really, really like this guy, and it is awful to see how his self-destructive shit is just wrecking him.
At least last night, the therapist got into his wife's issues a bit! I understand (believe me, I do!) co-dependancy and her desire to do something for herself, however, to me it seems like she is sort of goading him into bad behavior or maybe she is just oblivious to just how bad off he is. I would NEVER have a party without my husband, let alone not answer the phone during it and have a stripper at it! Knowing Danny's fragile state and his temper, wtf did she think was gonna happen??
We are really rooting for him around here....

Mon, October 3, 2005 - 9:00 AMI agree it was really painful to watch. He is hurting so bad. He really is trying to get some attention from his wife, and it seems she doesn't want anything to do with him. It's like she is tring to make him pay for his affair.

Wed, October 5, 2005 - 11:42 AMSorry I guys I have to disagree. Danny is out at the bars with his friends, drinking (thought he was on the wagon), flirting with women (thought he was married), and totally acting like he's in his 20's not his 40's.
If his wifes' girlfriends throw her a party with strippers so be it. It was his infidelity that caused the trust issues in the marriage. Unfortunately the guy is a mess. Angry, immature, and drunk; not a good combination. Throw in steroids, even worse. He said it, He's a trainwreck... -

Sat, October 15, 2005 - 1:04 PMI kind of agree about him acting like he's in his 20's. however, being an adult survivor of child abuse myself, I can understand the lack of maturity. I was one of the lucky ones, I had some really good therapy and now I have an incredibly loving and supportive family to be there for me when I'm feeling like a scared little kid. I'm 35 and I'm just getting my shit totally together, and I would imagine it takes longer for different people. -

Mon, October 17, 2005 - 7:02 AMWe missed last week, because of moving... :o( But last night's episode at least showed some promise. He did check into rehab, and just because they showed some previews of him wanting out next week doesn't mean he actually leaves. It does explain a lot that he is bi-polar. My ex is bi-polar, and he was an alcoholic/drug addict, and very self-destructive, even on meds.
The combination of a very high IQ, childhood abuse and bi-polar disorder is a devistating combination. -

I still think that his wife is cold and no one is calling her on it but Danny. I just hope that leaving her doesn't lead him straight back to his demons. -
